Postdoctoral Scholar, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology
Anusheela joined our group and the Mars 2020 Project after having completed a Ph.D. in Materials Science at Northwestern University. In her research, Anusheela is conducting experimental work to better understand X-ray optic transmission properties and to improve the elemental calibration of the Planetary Instrument for X-ray Lithochemistry, an XRF spectrometer mounted on the arm of Perseverance Rover.
Scientist and Team Leader, CSIRO
Brianna Ganly shared with us her expertise in applied X-ray physics and materials science during a 3-month visit in 2022 as a JPL Visiting Scientist guest. Now a technical collaborator on the Mars 2020 project, Brianna is carrying out research activities that support analyzing X-ray data returned by PIXL and, to generate a protocol to recalibrate PIXL using only Perseverance Rover's on-board calibration target.

Applied Physicist and Affiliate Professor, University of Washington
Tim served as principle spectroscopist for the duration of the development of PIXL and is chief architect for the PIXL XRF quantitative analysis package (PIQUANT). Tim continues to support the PIXL project as calibration and software development consultant and graduate student supervisor.
Applied Physicist and Programmer, University of Washington
Phil is an applied physicist and is the lead developer of the PIQUANT software package. Phil leads the development of the GitHub repository used to manage test versions of the PIQUANT software.
